Dallas Campbell

Dallas Campbell is the host of the series. Born in Scotland, he started life as an actor on British film and television programmes. He has since branched out into being a writer and a leading TV presenter. As a well-known face on BBC Science programmes, he has presented BBC1’s science show ‘Bang Goes The Theory’, BBC2’s ‘Horizon’ and major series such as ‘Supersized Earth’, ‘Egypt’s Lost Cities’ and ‘Airport Live’

Dallas also is a regular contributor to Focus Magazine, the Times’ Eureka magazine and has appeared on Radio 4’s comedy science programme, Infinite Monkey Cage, with Robin Ince and Brian Cox.

Steve Burrows

Steve Burrows CBE is one of the world’s leading structural engineers. He has over 30 years of building experience and has been involved in game changing projects for sport, leisure, commercial buildings, retail, hotels, airports, and industrial facilities. Most recently Steve headed up the building of the Bird’s Nest stadium in Beijing, the City of Manchester stadium and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Steve’s long career in civil engineering has spanned decades. Since graduating from Liverpool Polytechnic in 1982, he worked for the leading engineering firm ARUP where he was heavily involved in their work on Beijing’s Bird’s Nest stadium. He was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition of his work in the field of engineering worldwide. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Chartered Engineer, and also member of the Institution of Structured Engineers. After a long career at ARUP, he left to join the US consultancy practice AECOM where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Building Engineering. He now works at WSP, and is based in California.


The Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST), located at the University of Arkansas, focuses on research, education, and outreach related to geoinformatics and geomatics. Specific areas of research in these fields include GIS, geospatial analysis and modeling, high density survey, enterprise spatial databases, remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, and geospatial data and model interoperability.


Executive Producer

Anthony Geffen is one of the world’s leading documentary producers and filmmakers. He has won two BAFTA awards working with David Attenborough, for Flying Monsters 3D and Natural History Museum Alive 3D. He also won three Emmys for the series First Life. The other diverse films include the Emmy winning Jerusalem: The City of Heaven the series Promised Land, Egypt Unwrapped and the Time Scanners. Theatrical films include; The Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest, Penguins 3D, and Galapagos 3D. He worked for the BBC for ten years before setting up Atlantic in 1992. He is the CEO and Creative Director of Atlantic Productions.


Series Producer

Lara Acaster is an Emmy-nominated Series Producer specializing in science, engineering and archaeology. Over the past 15 years she has built a strong and diverse track record in high-end factual and entertainment programming, developing and producing successful series for Discovery Channel, National Geographic, PBS, History Channel, Science Channel, TLC and Animal Planet in the US and BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and FIVE in the UK.
